No. One consultation = one patient = one skin problem. During a consultation, the doctor reviews everything related to your one specific skin problem. If you have multiple separate skin issues (such as acne and eczema), you'll need to book separate consultations so each condition receives the attention it deserves.
A consultation for a hair problem is just as confidential and reliable as any other consultation. We do ask you to upload photos. We understand that photographing your hair isn't always easy. Here's how:
- Ask someone else to take a photo
- Take a clear overview shot of your entire scalp
- If there is a skin change such as redness or inflammation, try to capture it clearly.
Hair loss treatment depends on the type and its causes. Common approaches include topical treatment (stimulates blood circulation) or medication (counteracts the hormone that causes hair follicles to shrink).

Yes, for severe forms of acne, your treatment can progress to isotretinoin. However, we rarely start with isotretinoin — we always begin with the option that carries the fewest side effects. Where you start on the spectrum, from mild to intensive treatment, depends on the severity of your acne.
Don’t worry — late-onset acne is very common and is seen especially in women. It’s often triggered by an excess of male hormones. Many women stop taking the contraceptive pill that had previously protected them against blocked sebaceous glands. Once that protection is gone, androgenic hormones have free rein and can stimulate the sebaceous glands. In men, hormonal balance is generally better, but supplements can trigger acne in later life.

Because sweating is difficult to capture in a photo, we ask you to include as much information as possible in your description so our dermatologists can provide specific advice.
In 95% of cases, the dermatologist can provide advice and a treatment plan based on photos alone, without a physical appointment. The dermatologist will always carefully consider whether an in-person visit would be beneficial.
Should your specific skin condition require further examination at a practice, we ensure you can access the nearest Skindr dermatologist as quickly as possible.
Absolutely. In most cases, a skin condition doesn't disappear overnight, and we want to support patients throughout the entire process. The dermatologist decides how long the consultation stays open and when you can start a (paid) follow-up consultation. During follow-ups, we monitor your healing progress, make adjustments if needed, and new documents can be made available digitally. You can upload new photos of your condition and ask your dermatologist questions.
Depending on the consultation type you have chosen, you can ask additional questions to your dermatologist via the in-app chat, just as in a physical consultation. How long you can ask questions depends on the consultation type you chose.
Yes, hair loss is a common problem that our dermatologists can help with. A consultation for a hair problem works exactly like any other consultation. If it's too difficult to take photos of your hair yourself, ask someone else to take a photo of the affected area.
