The current situation in healthcare

More than 40% of Flemish practices are currently working with a (partial) patient stop. At the same time, the number of chronically ill and elderly people is increasing sharply: by 2050, 1 in 4 Belgians will be over 65 years old. Due to staff and time shortages, a growing number of GPs are experiencing structural overload.

Skin problems are increasing

Skin problems are the 4th largest cause of non-fatal disease worldwide. In Belgium, 30% of the population has a skin condition, but patients have to wait an average of 4 to 6 months for a dermatologist consultation. Demand is growing by 6% per year, while the number of available specialists is stagnating, leading to waiting times and pressure on the front line.

How do I refer patients?

Very simple: you explain to your patient that he or she has Skindr app can download and start a consultation there. The patient uploads photos and info and provides a unique code that ensures that the dermatologist gives advice within the 48 hours at the standard rate. The doctor will receive a report of the consultation afterwards.

Will I stay up to date with my patient?

Absolutely. After each consultation, you will receive a report with the dermatologist's advice. This way, you are always up to date with your patient's journey and at the same time you get the chance to learn about skin conditions yourself.

How can I learn from this?

With each report, you will not only receive advice for your patient, but also a brief explanation of the reasoning. This way, you can follow how the diagnosis came about at a glance and learn on your own without investing extra time.

Why should I refer patients to Skindr?

Referring means that your patient receives recognized dermatological advice within 48 hours instead of waiting months. You save consultation time, get fewer repeat visits and always stay on top of your patient's journey through the report.

How much does it cost for my patient?

For your patient, a consultation via Skindr costs €49. The patient provides information and photos, after which the dermatologist reviews your file and gives personal advice, possibly including necessary documents for medication. Does the patient have any additional questions? Then he can easily consult with the dermatologist via chat.

Patient reimbursement

A partial refund is often provided for your patients. At Helan, Neutral Ziekenfonds Vlaanderen and AG, for example, they get €9 back per consultation. With outpatient insurance with DKV, reimbursement can even amount to 80% of the amount. We are also in talks with other health insurers to further expand this offer.
