How quickly will I receive a response from a dermatologist?
With Skindr, you don't have to wait weeks or months for an appointment with a dermatologist. You start your consultation online and choose how quickly you'd like to receive a response.
Depending on the type of consultation you choose, the following response times apply:
- Standard (€49): response within 5 working days.
- Fast help (€59): response within 48 hours, including weekends.
- Even faster help (€99): response within 24 hours, including weekends.
Once the dermatologist has assessed your consultation, you'll receive a notification and can view your medical advice in the Skindr app.
What will I receive after the consultation?
After reviewing your photos and information, your dermatologist provides personalized medical advice tailored to your skin concern and individual situation.
The dermatologist clearly explains the next steps and what you should keep in mind. Your medical advice remains easily accessible in the Skindr app, so you can review it again whenever needed.
If you have additional questions, you can ask your dermatologist through the chat. How long you can continue asking questions depends on the type of consultation you selected.
How qualified are the Skindr dermatologists?
The dermatologists working through Skindr are licensed medical specialists in dermatology. After completing their medical degree, they undertook specialist training in dermatology.
Our dermatologists have clinical experience with a wide range of concerns involving the skin, hair and nails. Many combine their work through Skindr with clinical work in a hospital or their own practice.
Through Skindr, they assess your skin concern based on the information and photos you provide and offer personalized medical advice on the next steps.
Can I get reimbursed for a consultation through Skindr?
Depending on your health insurance fund or insurer, you may be eligible for a discount or reimbursement for your Skindr consultation.
Benefits are currently available through:
- DKV: up to 80% reimbursement, depending on your outpatient insurance policy.
- AG: reimbursement may be available through Easly, depending on your insurance policy.
- CM: €9 discount on your Skindr consultation.
- Helan: €9 discount on your first Skindr consultation.
- Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds (VNZ): €9 benefit on your Skindr consultation.
The conditions and amount of any reimbursement may vary depending on your insurance policy or membership. Always check the applicable terms with your health insurance fund or insurer.

How can I start a consultation for my child?
To use Skindr independently, you must be at least 18 years old. As a parent, you can start a consultation for your child through your own Skindr account.
Here's how it works:
- Start a new consultation and indicate that it is for your child.
- Enter your child's details.
- Upload clear photos and describe the skin concern as thoroughly as possible.
- Enter your own contact details.
As the parent, you communicate directly with the dermatologist through Skindr and can ask additional questions.
You can also start a consultation in the same way for another family member or someone you are responsible for.
What if I still need an in-person appointment?
In 95% of cases, the dermatologist can assess your skin concern online based on photos and the information you provide, and offer personalized medical advice. During the assessment, the dermatologist will also determine whether an in-person appointment or further examination is needed.
If your skin concern needs to be examined in person, the dermatologist will let you know and advise you on the next steps. Where possible, Skindr can help refer you for further examination.
Can I discuss multiple skin concerns during one consultation?
One consultation is intended for one patient and one specific skin concern. During the consultation, the dermatologist reviews everything related to that concern. If you have several separate skin concerns, such as acne and eczema, start a separate consultation for each one. This allows the dermatologist to assess each concern carefully and give it the attention it needs.
Who can use Skindr?
To use Skindr independently, you must be at least 18 years old. As a parent, you can start a consultation for your child if they are under 18. You can also start a consultation for another family member or someone you are responsible for.
What can you expect from Skindr?
- Personalized medical advice from a licensed dermatologist.
- Your data is handled securely and confidentially in accordance with GDPR requirements.
- Direct contact with your dermatologist through the Skindr app.
- The option to ask additional questions and receive online follow-up for your skin concern.
- If your skin concern isn't suitable for an online consultation, we'll clearly explain the next steps.
How much does a consultation via Skindr cost?
A consultation with a dermatologist via Skindr starts from €49. The dermatologist reviews your information and photos and provides personalized medical advice on the next steps. You can also ask your dermatologist additional questions via chat.
Thanks to our partnerships with insurers and health funds, a reimbursement or discount is available too:
- DKV: up to 80% reimbursed, depending on your outpatient policy.
- AG: €9 per consultation.
- Helan: €9 per consultation.
- Neutraal Ziekenfonds (Neutral Health Fund): €9 per consultation.
- CM (Christian Health Fund): €9 per consultation.

An online consultation through Skindr takes place in a few simple steps:
- Describe your skin concern and upload clear photos using your smartphone.
- A dermatologist reviews your photos and the information you provided.
- If additional information is needed, the dermatologist may ask you to provide more details or upload additional photos.
- After the assessment, you receive personalized medical advice and clear information about the next steps in the Skindr app.
- You’ll receive a notification when your dermatologist’s advice is available.
- You can then ask additional questions through the chat. How long you can do this depends on the type of consultation you selected.
If your skin concern cannot be sufficiently assessed online, the dermatologist will let you know and advise you on the next steps.
