CM and Skindr join forces to provide rapid help to young people with acne

June 20, 2024

Acne may seem like one of the most harmless skin problems, but it affects 80% of people between the ages of 11 and 30. It can affect your self-confidence and lead to mental consequences such as anxiety and depression. Starting this month, no coincidence Acne Awareness Month, young people will receive extra support from CM to quickly get an appointment with a dermatologist via the innovative Skindr app. The campaign not only makes dermatological help more accessible to young people, but also underlines the growing trust in digital health care.

Fast and reliable care via Skindr

Skindr is an app that connects users to a dermatologist quickly and reliably. Instead of waiting months, young people can get a consultation within 48 hours. For urgent cases, this is even possible within the day. Via the app, they receive personal advice, a customized treatment plan and, if necessary, a prescription on their identity card. So far, more than 25,000 consultations have been carried out via Skindr.

The importance of professional advice

Many young people are looking for skin care tips on social media such as TikTok. Unfortunately, this can lead to the use of inappropriate products and treatment methods. “A good treatment plan that suits you and your skin is essential to minimize the physical and mental effects of acne,” says Annelies Avermaete, dermatologist and co-founder of Skindr. Depending on the severity of the acne, medical intervention may be necessary. In addition to prescription products, a skincare treatment plan is drawn up to support and maintain long-term results. A skincare routine is therefore not always sufficient to tackle acne thoroughly, especially when those skin products are not made for their specific skin type or type of acne.

Collaboration with CM: an important step in digital healthcare

Thanks to the cooperation with CM, young people receive a €14 discount on a consultation with Skindr. This partnership makes dermatological care more accessible and helps young people get professional help quickly. “This collaboration with CM is an important step in making dermatological care more accessible to young people,” says Jochen Boeykens, co-founder of Skindr. “It is remarkable that a major health insurer like CM pays attention to digital health care. As a major player, this has a great significance for Skindr and the increasing trust in digital healthcare. By offering digital solutions, young people can be helped quickly and effectively, saving them from using unreliable tools and advice from their environment or social media,” says the Skindr founder.
